Live Your Dream by Tracie Bonds

As I was working on my first book I planned to title LIVE YOUR DREAM, a young man by the name of david camp was severely injured in a car accident in a rural area of New York. I heard about David through a posting on facebook.

Of course I clicked on his photo and found that he had been in an accident 2 days before and as I read the postings the doctors had given his parents until 9am the following morning to remove him from life support. It was 2am Eastern Time when I first read his story and all I thought was ...PRAY!
Pray for this young man to live and not die.

None of us want to die, it’s not a natural feeling, and we don’t want others to die. When faced with the thought of death our insides start to battle, even when it's a complete stranger our instincts tell us to do whatever we can to help save the life.

I did not know david camp, or know anyone who knew david camp but at 2am on a Saturday morning in june, I sat in my bed begging God to let david live.

Life is a funny thing. It’s a breath. One after another consistently coming…. oxygen in, carbon dioxide out.

A heartbeat. But who controls your heartbeat? I can most assuredly say it is not you.

But most of us never think about it, we just breathe.

So there I sat, in the middle of the night, crying out to God for a man I did not know.

Do you ever feel like you’re crying out to a GOD you can’t see and if the truth was told, you might admit that at times you’re not sure if He even exist, about problems and situations that you feel completely helpless to solve?

When I read the posts about this young man, it appeared to me that he was in his early 20’s, a good looking kid, with an adorable girlfriend (from the photos someone had posted of the two of them), maybe a youth leader of some kind.

Sometimes we look at a picture of someone we don’t know but just feel like we do because they have the nicest smile and seem so kind, they have a presence that pulls you to them.

Well that was me as I sat in the middle of my bed at what was now 3am balling and still praying for GOD to heal David, my new friend, my brother.

Death always makes you look at life, your life. In someone else’s death we seem to find a need for our lives to be fuller, for our lives, what we have left of it, to have purpose and meaning.

By 4am my sobbing had ended, my praying had ceased, with complete faith that GOD would heal David, wake him from his coma with no brain damage, that he would leave that hospital a walking miracle of GOD, I went to sleep.
